The motivation of the project:

Cross border impacts are the following:
The flood, inland water and water quality damages have been presented on both Hungarian and Slovak sides of the concerned rivers. The protection and prevention is needed on both sides of the border, the implementation of this particular project occurs in both countries. The planning and carrying out of these works is the task of the water management and environmental experts, who can share the best accessable practice in protection and prevention.
The project is inspired by the Tisza and Catchment Area Subcommittee of the Hungarian-Slovak Cross-border Waters Committee.

The target of the project:

The target of the project is to develop the operative collaboration and communication between the two water management organizations in the interest of the tasks concerning cross-border waters, considering the EU Water Framework Directive. A study is prepared by the participants which gives a summery of the final conclusions and issues.
The closing document of the project contains the recommendations for the Tisza and Catchment Area Subcommittee of the Hungarian-Slovak Cross-border Waters Committee.
An infopoint is set up at ÉKÖVÍZIG and SVP, to provide environmental data to civil and professional organizations.

Summery project description:


Activities:

  • Opening conference in Miskolc
  • Practice and improvement of professional English language skills in Miskolc
  • Intensive professional workshops and study tours in Hungary and in Slovakia, in 5 topics (hidrography, flood protection, water management, inland water protection, environmental protection), ab. 25 participants
  • Closing conference in Kosice


Results:

  • An infopoint is set up at ÉKÖVÍZIG and SVP, to provide environmental data to civil and professional organizations.
  • Summery study: the summery of the presentations, reminders of the study tours, recommendations promoting the operative co-operation, recommendations for the functioning of the infopoint and further project suggestions.
  • Hungarian-English-Slovak professional water management dictionary
  • Improvement of professional English language skills in a course
  • Widening of the personal professional relationship
  • Recommendations for the Cross-border Waters Committee
